During the voyage from Singapore to Derby, Australia the Rover Boys befriended a young woman who would get them into trouble in a bar in Australia.

As they approached Townsville, the land became lush and developed.

Bob is on the right. The man in the tent is a fellow passenger from the trip over by freighter who joined them as far as Queensland.

Snow in Lamington Park?
Location of this is not positive. They spent a few days up in the hills east of Brisbane.

Sydney
They headed to Sydney to prepare for Bob's departure.

Albatross Banding
While in Sydney, they were invited out into the harbour to help catch and band these great birds.

One Last Visit
Just before boarding his ship, Bob made a visit to the Sydney Zoo.

Voyage Home
Bob had fun with fellow travellers showing off his musical talents.

Left Behind
Bristol stayed on and worked at the university doing research until a suitable crossing could be arranged for the Grizzly Torque.

Banding Penguins
Bristol especially enjoyed banding the rare 'Fairy Penguins'

Snowy Mountains
On a science trip to Adelaide they crossed the Snowy Mountains.

Filming Terns
With movie film left over, Bristol never missed a chance to capture more wildlife.

Not Much for Beaches
Although this looks like Bondi Beach, it seems unlikely as today it is heavily developed. The Rover Boys shied away from crowds such as these.

Together
Neither man felt any loss at their parting in Australia. A bond had been forged which would last the rest of their lives.
